Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda

Hacienda La Esmeralda was established in Panama in 1940 and acquired by the Peterson family in 1967. Originally focused on cattle and dairy, the family expanded into coffee in the 1980s. In the 1990s, they planted Geisha at high elevations in Jaramillo, where the variety showed exceptional cup quality. In 2004, their Geisha won the Best of Panama competition and set a record auction price, putting Hacienda La Esmeralda and Panamanian Geisha on the world specialty coffee map.

Cabaña Abajo 6 B was harvested on February 15th, 2025. The coffee cherries were harvested at their ripest, then washed and put to slow dry on raised beds for 17 days.
